I’m a Couch Potato!!!

2 02 2010

I have always been a couch potato.  I’m not saying I’m proud of it but that’s what I am.

I remember when I was a little girl, I’d read all the stories in my textbooks before classes even started.  And my favorite pasalubong whenever my parents go on trips?  Coloring books!  Yes, all you have to do to shut me up is hand me a good book and point to a corner.  Oh, and stuff sineguelas in mouth but that’s another story.

Anyway, my love for tv shows followed my love for books.  My Lola and my Mother both loved watching tv shows so, naturally, it rubbed off on me.  But, that was not the end of my addictions.

The icing on the cake?

I am now addicted to the internet.  It may be surfing the net, going online in Facebook, watching my favorite tv shows, and reading ebooks, it doesn’t matter what I do I just have to be online.  And being able to access the net in the office is not enough.  I only get satisfaction when I’m at home and using my laptop.

And this is the reason why I decided to put up blogs.  So, I would, at least have a good reason to go online.

But being addicted to all the stuff I’m addicted to also have perks.  It is also one way to learn about certain things that you wouldn’t normally learn in everyday life.  Unless, you’re put in the position where you’re forced to learn and that’s not always fun.

So, I am not proud that all I am is a couch potato but I am proud of all the things I learned by being one.

New Year and Kare-Kare

4 01 2010

I celebrated the Holidays with just my father and sister.  Mama is already in CA with my other sister and my cousin works in a call center.  He’s on the graveyard shift and had to work during the holidays.

So, we had a pretty simple celebration on the 1st of January.  We just attended mass at 6pm then went to Greenbelt.  And there we decided to try out a relatively new restaurant, Recipes.

Recipes

Recipes served mostly Filipino dishes and we decided on eating there because of 2 things: prices were cheaper than the other restaurants and they had Kare-Kare (Papa’s favorite).

Kare-Kare, Tofu Steak, and Bangus Belly

We only ordered 3 things but it all tasted really great.  For a more detailed review on the food, please check out this link:

And now you will see my wonderful and good-looking family.  What’s left of it.  :)

Beautiful sisters

And yes, we are beautiful.  If you don’t agree, better not let my sister hear you.  :D
